Who We Are - Kylar's Journey
Our Approach
Hello, my name is Heather Standley. I am local realtor; but more importantly I am an advocate for my incredible autism spectrum disorder child, Autism Spectrum Disorder is otherwise known as ASD My journey as an ASD parent has led me to create a nonprofit organization, Kylar’s Journey. I began this organization because I saw a need in my own life and then it was brought to my attention that others may have similar needs.
At Kylar’s Journey we have two specific goals or missions in mind.
First, we aim to support kids with ASD in social settings, especially those who are homeschool like my child. We believe in creating a free and comfortable environment where these kids can socialize and thrive in their own ways. We want to provide activities and programs to help provide the tools they will need to achieve anything they set their minds on. We have personally seen the remarkable progress that can be achieved when these amazing kids are given the right tools and environment. Furthermore, we want to offer animal therapy to empower these incredible kids to reach their full potential. Again, I have personally seen the amazing bond that animals feel with my own ASD child, and I am excited to see what can be accomplished!
Our second mission, which is equally as important, is to make ASD animal assistance accessible to all, regardless of their financial circumstances. To do this, we are committed to adopting rescue puppies and having them trained as ASD dogs. These dogs will be a source of comfort and support for children on the spectrum. By making these dogs available to all kids it is our hope this will help them access the world without fear.
Kylar’s Journey is more than just a 501c3 nonprofit, it is a commitment to providing tools for the best life for not just the kids with ASD but also their family that loves them. With your help we can make a real difference and help these absolutely amazing kids reach their full potential in life.
